Sunday School is Super
A wonderful Sunday School program is offered September through May for all Preschool through Grade 6 children. St. Albans is currently teaching with the "All Things New" curriculum, an Episcopal-based series which uses scripture stories that are both vital to self-understanding of the Church and engaging to children. The program also uses "Kids in Common: A Children's Book of Common Prayer". This is an interactive prayer book for children in grades 1-6 which helps them learn many of the most familiar prayers of our Episcopal liturgies.
Sunday School takes place during the 10:30 a.m. service, with children rejoining their parents to participate in the Eucharist.
Sunday School director, Mary Wright, together with an enthusiastic and committed group of teachers, make Sunday School at St. Albans a great place for our youngsters!

Heifer Project
At the front of the church on a small table, there is a ceramic cow; this is a source of confusion to some adults, but the young people at St. Albans know to put their weekly offering in that cow. Also, just ahead of Halloween, the youth auction pumpkins they have decorated, often to the enthusiastic bidding of proud grandparents. In the Spring at the conclusion of Sunday School for the year, the children discuss the animals they want to purchase from Heifer International with their year’s worth of offerings plus the proceeds of the auction. In 2008, they had $1,000 and decided to spend it on:
1 cow
1 goat
1 water buffalo
honey bees
flock of hope (ducks, geese, & chickens)
Heifer International then provides these animals to wherever they are needed around the world to recipients who agree to share the offspring of these animals with others in need.
