Music Program
St. Albans Episcopal Church,
Wilmington, Delaware
Music is a gift from God that strengthens, enlightens, and empowers the participant as well as the listener. Truly a "double blessing" offered in this church.
Our Music Program is under the leadership of Donald H. McFarland. Don is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and has served as Organist/Choirmaster for parishes in his home state of Alabama, as well as in Pennsylvania and Texas before moving to Delaware in 1990.
The Music Program of St. Alban's is "eclectic" in the finest sense and serves to support the worship experience of the congregation through hymns and anthems, as well as special music opportunities for soloist and instrumentalists from within and without the parish. Traditional and contemporary offerings are prepared for weekly services as well as special musical presentations throughout the year. For example, in 2007 the Requiem Mass written by Don McFarland was performed at St. Albans.
The Choir is open to all persons who are Grade 7 and up. At the core of the St. Alban's Choir are very dedicated and faithful singers who praise God through song. They open their arms to welcome others who seek that opportunity. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM.
