How Can I Help the Claymont Food Closet?
- You can volunter at the Food Closet. This job requires that you stand for long periods of time and that you are able to lift canned goods and fill grocery bags. St. Albans works at the Food Closet on Tuesday afternoons, 2:00 -4:00 p.m. A yellow sign-up sheet is on bulletin board in the narthex.
- You can contribute food items for the Food Closet. Each month a list of items needed is included in The Grapevine. These items are collected at the church.
- You may contribute monetarily by writing a check to Claymont Community Center with Food Bank on memo line..

The Food Closet is housed in the Claymont Community Center (the old Claymont High School Building) at:

When traveling to the Claymont Community Center from St. Albans, take Wilson Road until it dead ends at Harvey Road. Turn right onto Harvey Road and proceed east across I-95. Then, about one-half mile on, you will turn left on Green Street. There is sign directing you to the Community Center on the right side of Harvey Road at this corner. The Community Center is about six blocks up Green Street on the left hand side. (It is also the site of a New Castle County Library.)
The Food Closet is accessed from the right side of the building. Walk down the side of building past the entrance to the Head Start Program. The entrance to the food closet is down a ramp that is just before you arrive at the trash dumpsters. Come down the ramp and ring the doorbell and join us in helping our less fortunate neighbors.
